Scholarships for Majors in Agriculture and Natural Resources

About Central A&M CUD 21

School District 21 encompasses the communities of Assumption and Moweaqua, which are located in Christian and Shelby Counties of Central Illinois; the district also serves students from Macon County. Both are rural/farming communities and share such attributes as: pride, community, strong support of school activities, strong intergovernmental cooperation (including school district), low crime rates, unique histories, thriving public libraries and strong bonds with local community colleges.

Assumption is home to the nation’s largest family-owned John Deere Dealership (Sloan Implement) and an international manufacturing company (Grain Systems Incorporated or GSI), owned by Grain & Protein Technologies.

Moweaqua is home to one of the midwest’s largest charter travel bus companies (Timi’s Tours), central Illinois’ largest water drainage supplier (JCG Midwest) and a nationwide professional water management service (DIGS Associates).

College/University Scholarships Are Available To Graduating Seniors From Central Assumption Moweaqua High School (CAMHS) Who:

  • 1

Are residents of Christian, Shelby or Macon County.

  • 2

Will major in fields of natural resources or agriculture.

  • 3

Have clearly demonstrated both a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

  • 4

Have attached a “C” average (which is given priority) by graduation time.

The Linea Energy and WVUK Foundation Scholarship is awarded annually and paid directly to the institution for tuition and books with a current limit of $5,000 for a two year institution and $10,000 for a four year institution. Students are required to major in a field of natural resources or agriculture and maintain a “C” average. An official copy of grades must be provided to the WVUK Foundation at the end of each semester before payment for the following semester is made. The scholarship amount and award frequency will be increased commensurate with the Foundation’s growth.

Note that “C” average students are given priority over students with higher grade point averages. However, both a strong, clearly demonstrated “work ethic” and positive attitude are of paramount importance!
