The airport tested the AFFF nozzle system every 6 months into grassy areas along the air strip. Across from the injection site, there are 9 potential release locations where PFAS may have been utilized including hangars, fire stations, storage areas, and firefighting equipment testing areas. ORIN identified an approximate 1,600 sq-ft area to perform

Rinse water from fire trucks containing PFAS fire fighting foam was stored in four totes. The totes were then subjected to treatability testing and monitoring over a period of 26 weeks. ORIN used these totes to test two bioremediation strategies. Totes 1, 3, and 4 were treated with a combination of BAM and aerobic

BAM Injection PFAS

2024-03-04T12:15:18-06:00

ORIN conducted a pilot test to treat groundwater contaminated with PFAS using BAM, a pyrolized cellulosic material. BAM was mixed with water and injected through 46 DPT points encompassing PZ-1 and MW-5. A total of 4,445 gallons of BAM solution was injected through the 46 points. During injection activities, BAM was observed in PZ-1.

BAM Soil Mix PFAS

2024-03-04T12:15:36-06:00

ORIN conducted a pilot test to treat soil contaminated with PFAS using BAM, a pyrolized cellulosic material. BAM was applied directly to contaminated soils and thoroughly mixed with an excavator. Soil was mixed in-situ. A baseline TCLP analysis was not taken thus the pre-treatment number used is from the treatability study done on soils

BAM Booms Treating PFAS

2024-03-04T12:15:48-06:00

ORIN conducted a pilot test to treat PFAS impacted surface water flowing through collection vaults using BAM filled booms (8” diameter) and pillows (6” thick). The booms were customized to fit the dimensions of the vault for maximum BAM / surface water contact. BAM booms were placed into the vault and passive flow surface
